Today’s post gives you advice on the best affiliate marketing strategies to connect with your audience.

Start out my adding value to your community or network to attract potential customers (leads) to you.

You can use the email marketing strategies below, or simply share valuable content via your blog or social media accounts.  When you share content, use a Call To Action with an affiliate marketing link to a product that may help the prospect achieve their business goals.  Stick to the 80/20 rule – 80% Value, 20% offers that benefit the audience. Stay congruent with your market.  If you are attracting customers interested in a specific niche, offer valuable content and affiliate marketing products that will be helpful to them (not you).  For example, men interested in building muscle and gaining weight, and women interested in losing weight may benefit from the exact same shake or supplement. However, the content you share and the call to action to get their attention would be different because they are seeking a very different BENEFIT from the product.  Make sense?

One way to grow a loyal affiliate marketing customer base and repeat business is through an email marketing campaign.

Affiliate Marketing: Email Marketing

Obtain e-mail addresses from new or potential customers on your website (or your company’s site).  Allow your customers to sign up with a “subscribe now” type form (also called a lead capture page). Do not ask for too much information from your customers. In most cases, all you need are email addresses, names are good, but optional. Provide information on what sort of emails customers can expect. Send out emails or newsletters on a regular basis. Find tools that can help you customize and automate your outgoing emails. (I use Aweber.) You should always aim to share value with your subscribers. Also, invite customers to leave feedback about their interactions with you.  This can help you develop testimonials to use in your marketing.

Finally, when those leads and blog customers become buying customers, express gratitude for their purchase and loyalty.

It is very important to know as much as possible about the audience. This helps you provide valuable content to attract them to your site. Watch the trends.  For example, young adults are strongly attached to Social Media. If you are targeting young adults, you may want to run a social media campaign, or offer a product that teaches social media.  Look at what your competitors are doing to attract customers. Keeping a step ahead of the competition can be a challenge, especially in your marketing.

Surveying your affiliate marketing customers helps you better serve your customers, and potential customers.

Pay close attention to your customer feedback to keep up with market trends. Your foremost priority is introducing yourself to the market, followed closely by a strong focus on customer needs. Consider their suggestions, implement changes that will please them and always let them know you are listening to what they have to say. This will help you keep your existing customers as well as attract new ones.

Always reinforce the relationship with Value.
